DTN is for teachers with disabilities by teachers with disabilities. Uniting teachers with disabilities is paramount in building and strengthening our workforce. Promoting positive change is our goal.
DTN is a place to share experiences, challenges, successes, and resources. Raise awareness, advocate for change, challenge stereotypes, overcome barriers, laugh, and support each other. Although we are a US based organization we welcome educators with disabilities from any country.
Your voice is important and makes a difference.
People with disabilities face multifaceted challenges within a career in education. While each disability presents a unique set of challenges, we share common barriers of; stereotype, ignorance, attitude, accessibility, and lack of employment opportunities. Your voice is the first step in raising awareness and advocating for positive change.
